Curl Up and Die was a hardcoreband formed in 1998 in las vegas, nevadaby former members of Shelflife and The End, and two members previously unaffiliated with any bands. Often criticised for their name, Curl Up and Die are named so because members saw a hair salon named "Curl Up and Dye," and found this fit well with the original idea behind their music: a "fake, funny band" making "stupid spooky grindcore" music. 'Dye' was changed to 'die' and the name was settled. After stabilizing the band's line up and recording two demos, the band self-released their first EP, helping them to land a record deal with Status Recordings in 2000. With this label, they recorded three EPs, as well as some split albums with other artists.
